Hamburg-Amerika Linie (HAPAG) Vintage Menu Prints
Germany’s great transatlantic line — illustrated menus from 1884–1928
The Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actien-Gesellschaft (HAPAG) was the largest transatlantic shipping company in the world by 1900. Founded in 1847, HAPAG operated the legendary Deutschland, Kaiserin Auguste Victoria, and Imperator. Its menus often featured Art Nouveau illustrations of mythological scenes, harbor views, and the company’s distinctive black-and-yellow funnel motif.
