Late Edwardian elegance into the World War I era
The 1910s saw the last great Edwardian liner menus — White Star’s RMS Olympic (1911) being the supreme example — and the transition into the WWI era. Hotel typography became cleaner, ocean liner menus turned more functional, and many establishments suspended elaborate printing as the war effort tightened.
