A members-only menu from Larchmont Yacht Club House, 1912. From the exclusive sporting world of late-Victorian and Edwardian America.
The athletic, yacht, rowing, cricket and sporting clubs of late-Victorian and Edwardian America were as much social institutions as athletic ones. Members printed elaborate menus for dinners, regattas, and championship banquets; the surviving cards offer a window into the elite leisure culture of the era.
